3 arrested in Banshkhali while smuggling yaba

Jasim Uddin, Banshkhali: In a special operation of Banshkhali Police Station, Banshkhali Police arrested three persons including 15300 pieces of yaba and autorickshaws used for transporting yaba from Puichori-Pekua main road under Banshkhali Police Station at around 3.30 pm on Monday.

After receiving information from undercover sources, Banshkhali police raided the road on the south side of Futkhali Bridge on Banshkhali to Pekua main road in Puichori Union and found 15,300 Yaba tablets in a CNG autorickshaw.
Three people were arrested.

The arrested are Ramisha Begum (22), wife of Syed Qasim of Eidgarh Charpara 7th ward under Ramu thana of Cox’s Bazar district, Zahura Begum (50), wife of late Nabi Hossain of Soya Jainya Para under Chakaria police station and the other accused is Pekua Unamir of Pekua police station. Nasir (40)

Confirming the incident, Second Officer of Banshkhali Police Station SI Nazmul said that there is zero tolerance against drugs in Banshkhali. We must do whatever we can as a drug free police station in Banshkhali. Those who are involved in drugs, please leave Banshkhali. The campaign against drugs is ongoing. Today, three people have been arrested for drug trafficking and will be handed over to the court under the Narcotics Control Act.
